Tretinoin belongs to a class of medications called retinoids.  Tretinoin is often prescribed for the treatment of acne and wrinkles or fine lines. It works by preventing the formation of new acne lesions and promoting the turnover of skin cells. Tretinoin also helps with anti-aging by minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles due to its ability to increase the production of collagen. Tretinoin stimulates the production of new blood vessels in the skin, which improves skin color. Additional benefits include fading age spots and softening rough patches of skin.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Tretinoin may cause a brief sensation of warmth or stinging may occur immediately after applying the medicationSkin redness, dryness, itching, scaling or mild burning may occur during the first 2-4 weeks of using the medication. These effects usually decrease with continued use.

Dapsone belongs to a class of antibiotics known as sulfones. It works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria and reducing inflammation by reducing levels of Interleukin-8, a chemokine that attracts white blood cells to the skin. In addition to its anti-infective properties, Dapsone has anti-Inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Topical Dapsone’s most common side effects are application site dryness and pruritis (itching).

Topical Clindamycin is used to treat acne. Clindamycin is in a class of medications called lincomycin antibiotics. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of bacteria that cause acne and by decreasing swelling.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Topical Clindamycin’s most common side effects are oiliness, peeling and burning/itching.

Oxymetazoline is used to treat ongoing facial redness caused by rosacea (a skin disease that causes redness and pimples on the face). Oxymetazoline is in a class of medications called alpha1A adrenoceptor agonists. It works by narrowing the blood vessels in the skin.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Topical Oxymetazoline can cause the following side effects: Application site dermatitis, pruritis (itching) and erythema (skin redness).

Topical Ivermectin is a medication that is used to treat rosacea (a skin disease that causes redness and pimples on the face). Topical Ivermectin works by reducing redness and inflammatory lesions associated with rosacea.

SIDE EFFECTS

Topical Ivermectin may cause a skin burning sensation and skin irritation.

Azelaic Acid is used to treat acne. It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, helping to reduce the proliferation of acne-causing bacteria. Azelaic Acid also helps with hyperpigmentation concerns. It can inhibit the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for dark spots and uneven skin tone.

SIDE EFFECTS:

The most common adverse reactions with Azelaic Acid are a burning or tingling sensation, pruritis (itching) dry skin and irritation.

Niacinamide is a vitamin B derivative that helps minimize redness, improve tone and hyperpigmentation. This vitamin B derivative has protective and hydrating properties that reduce the impact of environmental damage, tighten skin, visibly minimize enlarged pores, fight premature signs of aging, and improve skin tone.

The most common adverse reactions with Niacinamide are a burning or tingling sensation, pruritus (itching) dry skin and irritation.
